GOD'S SAVING GRACE TRIUMPHS | Daily Devotion

Revelation 7:9-17 NLT

God does not give up on people. He wants people to escape the terror of eternity in hell. So here, in Revelation 7, we see that in the midst of God’s wrath and judgment, His saving grace triumphs! The vast crowd of people standing before God’s throne are the redeemed who come to Christ during the Tribulation. They get a second chance!

During the chaos of the Tribulation, a mass uprising takes place as the 144,000 evangelists preach the gospel—Matthew 24:14. Many people acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, recognizing that He is the only way to God, and they are saved—John 14:6. God’s grace is beautifully portrayed in this Great Awakening.

The Bible says that when one sinner accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, there is a party amongst the angels in heaven—Luke 15:10. And that is what we see here, a party celebrating the greatness of God! All of the angels, the twenty-four elders, the four living beings, and the vast crowd of the redeemed are standing around the throne, marveling at how awesome God is, worshipping Him—Revelation 7:11-13.

Heaven is a place of joy; there are no more tears, broken hearts, pain, or sorrow—Revelation 7:17. God shelters His people, protecting them from danger—Revelation 7:15-16. And their Shepherd, Jesus Christ, leads them—Revelation 7:17. Heaven is God’s presence, a place of perfection. It’s eternity with Jesus.

Today, the devil wants to keep you from living for heaven or from taking people with you. He tries to distract you with the things of this world or he seeks to subtly persuade you to sin or to take pride in your own accomplishments – forgetting Jesus.

Today, where is your focus? On heaven? Or the world?

If your focus is on heaven, you will seek to live righteously, regardless of your surrounding circumstances. You will endure the suffering that comes with standing strong on your God given convictions. You will want to be right with Jesus Christ, living a life of peace, obeying Him. However, if your focus is on the world, you will justify your sinful behavior, forgetting the coming consequences and you will lack peace and satisfaction only right relationship with Jesus Christ brings.

The glory we will experience in heaven far outweighs the cares of this world—2 Corinthians 4:16-18. So live for heaven! Live for Jesus! God says, “today is the day of salvation”—2 Corinthians 6:1. Choose life in Jesus Christ!

Prayer: Abba, we lift up everyone today who claims to be Christian and yet their focus is on the world. We ask You to draw them to Yourself in the best way, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
