Thought of the Day: The Trinity at work in our life is God’s perfect provision.
As I was sitting before God one morning, I asked Him, “What do I not know about You?” His answer did not come right away. I waited. I read through Ephesians 6 on the armor of God, and then went throughout my day with Ephesians 6:10 repeating through my head, “be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” I meditated on these words, while taking care of my tasks for the day, filtering through what I knew of God: we exist to know Him. We were created in His image, for His pleasure – Genesis 1:27, Revelation 4:11. His love for us encourages us to love Him – 1 John 4:19; and His love is shown in His perfect provision. Before the world began God chose Jesus Christ to be the Redeemer of mankind, dying on the cross to atone our sin with His pure lifeblood – 1 Peter 1:19-20. When God the Father raised Jesus from the dead, He exalted Jesus to the place of highest honor in heaven at His own right hand; giving Him the name above all names so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord – Acts 2:32-33, Philippians 2:9-11. Upon Christ’s ascension, the Holy Spirit entered – Acts 1:8, 2:33; and it is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we have the inner strength needed to be strong in the face of adversity Ephesians 3:16. The Holy Spirit is God’s mighty power at work within us; and God is able to accomplish infinitely more than we might ever ask or think here on earth through His Holy Spirit filling us – Ephesians 3:20. Later that day, the Lord whispered to my heart what I have overlooked about Him – He loves to win. We can confidently walk worthy of the calling because we have victory in God’s perfect provision of the Trinity. The enemy is roaring around like a lion, seeking to devour people – 1 Peter 5:8 – he steals, kills and destroys the details that make up our abundant life – but God reigns over heaven and earth and is glorified when the enemy is subdued in every situation – John 10:10. We have opportunity today to resist the devil, knowing he will flee – James 4:7; relishing in the fact, God’s end game for Satan is the lake of fire – Revelation 20:10. We can stand firm against him, strong in our faith – 1 Peter 5:9– believing God at His word and trusting His timing – because we are strong in the Lord, knowing His word, and strong in his mighty power, which is the Trinity at work in our life.
God is the best source regarding Himself. When we ask Him, He transforms us and renews our mind; teaching us His will – Romans 12:1-2. He gives us the confidence we need to walk by faith and not by sight – 2 Corinthians 5:7, as He calls us to meditate on His word, waiting on Him for answers; He then affirms our knowledge and strength, giving us the assurance and correction we personally need. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us – Philippians 4:13 – because He strengthens us with His word! As our prayer focus is knowing God – our hearts are aligned with His will for our lives, and our steps are in His direction, following righteousness; we then are ready to explain His words of truth to all those who ask about our Christian hope – 1 Peter 3:16.
