He is Risen | Daily Devotion
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11 NKJV
God will show us the path of life, here on earth – the path including both the physical life and spiritual – that leads to eternal life in heaven. A path paved by Jesus Christ’s righteous footsteps – Psalm 85:13 – righteous footsteps illuminating His holiness – Isaiah 5:16. His wisdom, showing us how to live the knowledge He, Himself makes us aware of.
On Easter Sunday, we need to realize because Christ rose again, we will never walk alone as we sojourn here on earth along the path of life He paved for us.
When we seek to have the mind of Christ, we live this truth. We are never alone, He is here.
There are many different situations in real life that cause one to fear, to struggle with trust, to doubt, to feel defeated and depressed, to battle hopelessness and helplessness, to feel out of control, to feel lonely, to battle regret and shame, to feel overcome by something more powerful, to feel disrespected, to struggle with negative thoughts, to feel compelled on repeat and so many more situations – all asking for Christ’s presence to overcome. And thus, as we live His presence, knowing, mentally, that He is very present – it is that knowledge of His presence that gives us psychological strength over what we are experiencing. Knowledge of His presence and knowledge of who He is. We master our situation, we dominate the darkness by living out this very truth. Jesus is here right now. That focus overcomes the fear, doubt, hopelessness, helplessness etc and provides us with the confidence we need to face our situation triumphantly undeterred by the pressing challenges.
And this we know and walk confidently and rejoice in – His resurrection solidifies our salvation! We are delivered from the power and effects of sin by His one offering, His one death on the cross and His resurrection. We are no longer slaves to sin, for His power mastered sin freeing us for heaven’s eternity. If sin controls us we show to either not be tapping into the Holy Spirit given so freely, who gives us the power to resist every sinful temptation from within or without, or we are not a child of God. That is on us to determine.
One thing I love about God is He knows we do need a little motivation – and if people resist temptation, saying no to sin, they receive the crown of life in heaven to cast down at Christ’s feet in thanksgiving and adoration, recognizing He is the One who gives the power to obtain such a reward.
Truly, Jesus Christ fulfilled the law held against us with a power unmatched – a power holding perfect holiness – and He gives us this power to live life along the path He paved for us.
Only a holy righteous God provides what is needed with such tender mercy, tender compassion.
He is seated at God’s right hand and thus ever present in our lives. He is our pleasure for today through heaven’s eternity. We can trust God’s word and live this truth. It’s a mindset that refuses to be moved by the doubt in the midst.
Jesus Christ is the Christian life. He is the greatest gift.
He foreknew the life of every human and came to this earth, deity in the flesh, to save – to bring the Good News to the poor in spirit in need of a Savior, to command captives to be released, to open the eyes of the blind, to free the oppressed, announcing that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.
Today is the day of salvation, not the day of oppression. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.
His offered freedom is the power that transforms lives.
Will you pray with me?
Abba, thank You for Jesus Christ and the freedom He brings to each and everyone. We ask Lord for many to turn their hearts and minds toward You today in thanksgiving, seeing Christ in their midst. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
