Mountaintop Mornings for Forty Days is a pocket size devotional that is pure Scripture pieced together, with every devotion ending in an Amen. When we pray Scripture, we align our heart with God’s heart. Truly, the power in prayer is found in God’s Word, not our voice; it’s God’s voice, not our words.

As we walk this earth, the goal of every Christian is to know God – to know God’s heart, to live His heart, and to share His heart with others. His heart is His Word. Every believer can have a mountaintop experience with God when they read Scripture and pray; listening and talking to their King.

There are different ways to utilize this devotional as a tool to grow closer to God:

  • You can pray the Scripture verses each day for your church, family, friends, yourself, nation, spiritual leaders, workplace, coworkers, school, community group, or anyone else God places on your heart.
  • You can study each verse provided on the given day, recognizing how the verses encompass a specific theme.
  • And you can write down your prayers in the journal provided.

Forty-Day Devotional

This devotional is only 40-days, perfect for establishing the right habit of reading Scripture and prayer. A 365-day Mountaintop Mornings is also available on Amazon.

After I published Mountaintop Mornings, my mother mentioned the devotional was a little too big to put into her purse. She wanted a smaller one to carry around. So, I made the 40 day devotional to be purse size. It fits easily into a hand bag or backpack without weighing down the individual. (It is also available as an ebook). I dedicated this 40-day devotional to my mother in May 2019. And it literally remained in her purse, going with her everywhere. She loved it!

In August 2019, my mom, Dixie, was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. With cancer, there are countless doctor’s visits; and while my mom sat in the waiting room, she would pull out her devotional and start reading. She loved God’s word. My mom truly loved studying God’s word. And she would share this devotional with others. Little did she know, she only had 2 years left to live. I’m so thankful I heeded God’s burden to my heart, as He spoke through my mom, to make a smaller version of my Mountaintop Mornings; simply for the many times my mom would pull it out of her purse, and read the Scripture verses that eased her heart and steadied her mind.

We never really know who needs the work God has called us to, and we never know how the work will impact their heart, mind, and soul while they walk this earth – but God knows, and that is all that matters.

Mountaintop Mornings for Forty Days Excerpt

DAY 1

Why is God’s Word important?

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. * Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth it’s fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. * No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. * Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD! * And blessed be His glorious name forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen and Amen.
