Relentless prayer is a relentless pursuit in seeing God’s will done on earth.

” ‘God detests the prayers of the person who ignores the law.’ Proverbs 28:9 NLT

The person who ignores the law but prays to God – lacks knowledge of God, lacks love for God, and lacks fearing Him; all the while desiring His blessings. They want to receive on their own terms. Their desire is to create the rules. Very much the person who wants salvation without repentance. Restoration without repentance. Reconciliation without repentance. They refuse the sanctification process that makes them more like Jesus Christ.

When one has knowledge of God, they know obeying God means we die to ourselves and our evil ways. Nevertheless, the pride in the person who wants their own created path with all of the blessings, resists the affront that they are in the wrong. They resist correction. We need to realize that God established the law for a reason – concrete standards written by His hand that reveal holy righteous living and our need for Him. Jesus Christ satisfied the law against us with His life, death, and resurrection ensuring our salvation upon repentance and acceptance of Him – but we are still called to live lives loving God, and loving people, otherwise we are in sin. We do face various tests in life; this one is easy to spot – the test of knowing God is living out His word – 1 John 3:2. Our actions and words reveal whether we know God or not.” – excerpt taken from Revival of the Hearts by Alysa VanderWeerd
