Relentless prayer is a relentless pursuit in seeing God’s will done on earth.

“For the individual who is learning how to pray or who is nervous about praying out loud and asks, ‘What do I say?’ Knowing they can pray God’s word back to Him, revealing their belief in His words of truth, is freeing. It also helps the mind that has gone blank during corporate prayer, as one is asking God, ‘Can You please tell me what to pray?’ And the Holy Spirit is very faithful to direct the individual to the perfect Scripture verse. In this way, when we pray God’s word, His name is honored.

Moreover, for the seasoned prayer warrior, the Holy Spirit illuminates truths in verses people thought they had analyzed completely already. And at various seasons, while praying for individuals, some verses become more ingrained in the mind or the passage of Scripture becomes even more meaningful. Ultimately, God constantly reveals Himself in His word, and when we pray God’s word we show our submission to His Sovereign plan. He is God and we are the sheep of His pasture – Psalm 100:3.

Praying God’s word is an act of humility, saying, ‘Not my will Lord, but Yours be done.” – excerpt taken from Revival of the Hearts, by Alysa VanderWeerd.

CURRENT EVENTS

The US and rising inflation – Inflation is rising at a fast rate in the US, and is at 4 percent – the fastest rate this century. The economic issue is related to the pandemic, increasing demand, supply chain disruption, worker shortages. This along with increasing gas prices has made inflation an economic and political problem for the White House. Praying for wisdom for the government in how to overcome the outcome of the pandemic.

The breakdown between social media and real life – “What’s funny or arguably defensible on Twitter, TikTok or Facebook is simply inappropriate in real life.” The viral saying that demeans President Biden, due to the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, “Let’s go Brandon” (which came about on Oct 2, when NASCAR driver Brandon Brown won his race and was being interviewed by a reporter. The crowd was chanting an expletive with President Joe Biden’s name attached. The reporter either mistakenly or deliberately assured Brandon Brown that the crowd was saying “Let’s go Brandon.” And people then associated that phrase as a code phrase for demeaning President Joe Biden), does not help matters. The political parties often throw demeaning names toward each other. Praying for maturity and the realization that President Biden is a human being and we need him to be a competent leader, and tearing him down will not produce that. And praying for people and their use of social media to attack others, in passive aggressive ways, to realize the immaturity of it – it does not produce the righteousness of God – James 1:20. We are exhorted by God to be angry at wrongs and not sin – Ephesians 4:26. The social media trolling cycle simply produces animosity, defensiveness, contempt, constant criticism, anger, defeat and inappropriate actions that do not reveal the love we are to have for our neighbors and ultimately God.

“Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.” Romans 12:18 NLT

Public displays of anger over vaccine and mask mandates – Parents called “domestic terrorists” because of the wrongful displays of anger by some, and the death threats that superintendents have received by those who don’t want their child to wear a mask to school. Praying for wisdom for all sides; that people would peaceably protest and that the government and school districts would hear the real reason as to why people are angry.

“Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.” Romans 12:17-18 NLT

“But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.” James 3:17-18 NLT

Hollywood and Actors – Kristy Swanson, the Buffy the Vampire slayer actress, asked for prayer as she is hospitalized with COVID-19. Praying for healing for her, and for Hollywood and other actors to realize their need for a relationship with Jesus Christ and prayer that only He can answer; and that Christians are placed in their path to share the love of Jesus Christ.

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17 NLT

“I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; he saved me from all my troubles. For the angel of the LORD is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him. CHURCHES

Pastors and Pastors’ wives – Praying for pastors and their wives to listen to God.

“Work at living at peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the firstborn son for a single meal. You know that afterward, when he wanted his father’s blessing, he was rejected. It was too late for repentance, even though he begged with bitter tears. You have not come to a physical mountain, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking. They staggered back under God’s command: ‘If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.’ Moses, himself was so frightened at the sight that he said, ‘I am terrified and trembling.’ No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. You have come to the assembly of God’s firstborn children, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God himself, who is the judge over all things. You have come to the Spirits of the righteous ones in heaven who have now been made perfect. You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! When God spoke from Mount SInai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: ‘Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.’ This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakeable things will remain. Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakeable, let us be thankful and please God by worshipping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire.” Hebrews 12:14-29 NLT

People who attend this week – Praying people accept Jesus Christ into their hearts, and Christians grow in their walk with the Lord.

“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 NLT

And praying for Christians to love God and to love people, impacting those around them with the love of God so much so they want to meet Him – not hiding their light, but shining it.
