Relentless prayer is a relentless pursuit in seeing God’s will done on earth.
“God desires a genuine heart over an action devoid of heart. Real is greater than ritual.
Real prayer has spiritual life, it recognizes God as presently listening, it holds meaning, is sincere, is filled with humility, and full of faith (Spurgeon, C., “Praying Successfully”). It is not a show or a performance, it is not a ritual.
Since real prayer has spiritual life, we see with the New Covenant, ritual was removed and the ability to pray directly to God in spirit came with Him writing His law on our mind and heart. It takes believing the One who said He is to pray in spirit; as Paul said in Philippians 3:3 NLT, ‘For we who worship God in the Spirit are the ones who are truly circumcised. We put no confidence in human effort. Instead, we boast about what Christ has done for us.’ Real prayer, therefore, holds no confidence in human effort, as it relies on the Lord for the words to speak.
Jesus said in John 4:23-24 NKJV, ‘But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.’ When we worship God in spirit, it is very much ‘walking by faith and not by sight’ – 2 Corinthians 5:7. We do not see God, but we are talking to Him; and He is talking to us through His word. But notice in John 4:23-24, Jesus said ‘the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.’ The ‘spirit and truth’ components go hand in hand; as truth makes spirit real and right before God, and spirit makes truth everlasting. Spirit points to truth and truth defines spirit. The Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ embody spirit and truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth; as He always points to Jesus Christ. Therefore, real prayer is spiritual as it involves the Holy Spirit; and spiritual prayer is filled with truth in line with Jesus Christ and God the Father – John 16:13-15” – excerpt taken from Revival of the Hearts, by Alysa VanderWeerd
CURRENT EVENTS
Child Abuduction – Four year old, Cleo Smith, was abducted in Australia over two weeks ago when she was camping with her family. The police were not sure if she had wandered away from the family’s tent and thus, searched both land and sea, but they found evidence that supported abduction. She was found by police today, in a 36 year old man’s coastal home. Four police entered with the search warrant and the little girl said, “My name is Cleo.” The man who abducted her has been arrested. Praying for healing for Cleo and her family, in regards to what she has experienced, and praying for police officers, FBI agents, and ministries that search for those who are abducted and trafficked to have the wisdom and insight they need to catch those who have abducted children and teenagers. Praying for many children and teens to be found and rescued.
“Ears to hear and eyes to see are both gifts from the LORD.” Proverbs 20:12 NLT
People who feel burned out in work – Praying for all those who are feeling burned out to be able to take the time of rest that they need for the sake of their well-being. Various jobs hold different demanding challenges where an individual has to be on all of the time, and then with COVID-19 and the influx of work from home and the inability to set boundaries between work and home life has led to many experiencing burnout. Many have reported lethargy with the amount of zoom meetings, and difficulty engaging in the meeting. Could be overstimulation.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.'” Matthew 11:28-30 NLT

GOSPEL
Christians – Praying Christians share their faith boldly, and tactfully; looking for opportunities to share the love of Jesus Christ with the people around them and on their social media platforms – realizing that when they speak of the love of God with others, no matter what their current situation is they encounter the presence of God and their own hearts are encouraged, and others encounter the love of God and His presence.
“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6 NLT
Pastors – Praying pastors set the example for living the gospel in community.
“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:7-10 NLT
PRODIGALS/NON-BELIEVERS
Prodigals – Praying prodigals either come across a Christian book, song, or some type of resource or a Christian is placed in their path and they turn back to the Lord.
“My brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.” James 5:19-20 NLT
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT
Agnostics – According to the Pew Research, in 2018 and 2019 five percent of American adults identified as agnostic, meaning they do not believe that people can know for sure whether a god exists. Praying for agnostics uncertainty regarding the existence of God to become a certainty that God does exist. He is a triune being – God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
“And this is the way to have eternal life – to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.” John 17:3 NLT
“If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid. But someone else is also testifying about me, and I assure you that everything he says about me is true. In fact, you sent investigators to listen to John the Baptist, and his testimony about me was true. Of course I have no need for human witnesses, but I say these things so you might be saved. John was like a burning and shining lamp, and you were excited for a while about his message. But I have a greater witness than John – my teachings and my miracles. The Father gave me these works to accomplish, and they prove he sent me.” John 5:31-36 NLT
STATES
Idaho – Praying for Idaho’s state government to have the wisdom they need to make the best decisions for the people, and for bold and tactful Christians to hold positions in state government; and for Christians to reach the lost around them with the love of Jesus Christ and the message of the gospel.
“So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.” Colossians 1:9-10 NLT
Montana – Praying for Montana’s state government to have the wisdom they need to make the best decisions for the people, and for bold and tactful Christians to hold positions in state government; and for Christians to reach the lost around them with the love of Jesus Christ and the message of the gospel – and to encourage the downhearted Christian in the faith, and to strengthen the weak.
“I pray that from his glorious unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might as or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:16-21 NLT
PRAYER

Praying they recognize the inner strength You give, in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit – Ephesians 3:16. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
