Relentless prayer is a relentless pursuit in seeing God’s will done on earth.

“Real prayer also recognizes God is present, as prayers are directed towards Him. It is a heart living out Matthew 28:20 NKJV, where Jesus said, ‘I am with you always, even until the end of the age.’ Ritualistic prayers, on the other hand, are often memorized and said; lacking a heart and mind focused on God. Ultimately, God alone knows the heart and mind of every individual, and whether the words are directed towards Him or not.” – excerpt taken from Revival of the Hearts, by Alysa VanderWeerd

CURRENT EVENTS

ISIS is a growing threat to the new Taliban government in Afghanistan – Praying for the elimination of ISIS and for a right democratic government in Afghanistan.

“When the wicked are in authority, sin flourishes; but the godly will see their downfall.” Proverbs 29:16 NLT

Ethiopia – The United Nations human rights chief is investigating the yearlong war in the northern Tigray region and has stated it is marked by extreme brutality, with each side committing abuses but the majority of violations were linked to the Ethiopian forces. The conflict in the Tigray region has resulted in thousands of deaths, ethnic Tigrayans have been targeted with arbitrary detentions, civilians in Tigray have reported gang rapes, famine and mass expulsions. The abuses may amount to crimes against humanity and war crimes. More than 1,300 rapes were reported to authorities. Praying for the people and their safety and healing, for an end to the war, for the Ethiopian forces and their brutality to be dealt with and stopped, and for right governing over the people.

“The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he guides it wherever he pleases. People may be right in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their heart. The LORD is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices. Haughty eyes, a proud heart, and evil actions are all sin.” Proverbs 21:1-4 NLT

STATES

Texas – Praying for Texas and for their state government to have the wisdom that they need to make the best decisions for the people and for bold and tactful Christians to hold positions in state government; for the abortion law to be upheld with many lives saved, for Christians to reach the lost with the message of the gospel, and for Christians to genuinely love God and to genuinely love their neighbors as themselves.

“May God give you grace and peace. We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 11b-3 NLT

New Mexico – Praying for New Mexico and for their state government to have the wisdom that they need to make the right decisions for the people; for bold and tactful Christians to hold positions in state government; for Christians to shine the light of Jesus Christ as right witnesses to those around them, ready to explain the hope they have in Christ; for hearts to be receptive to the gospel with prodigals repenting of sin and non-believers accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” Ephesians 1:3-8 NLT

Arizona – Praying for Arizona and for their state government to have the wisdom that they need to best lead the people; for bold and tactful Christians to hold positions in the government; for Christians who are struggling in their walk with God to be encouraged; for non-believers to hear the Good News, receiving Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; and for Christians to realize they can make many plans but the Lord’s purpose will prevail, trusting in the Lord with what is before them.

“May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace. Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.” Galatians 1:3-5 NLT

PRAYER

Abba! You are so good, praying Your people encounter Your goodness in the land of the living; rejoicing in You. We know that as we live in end times evil will increase, but we also know that while You have us here we can make the right decisions to eliminate evil in our midst, so that our families and those around us are not harmed. Praying right decisions are made. We ask Lord for Your powerful presence to be felt in Afghanistan and Ethiopia; praying for people to encounter You and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and for the elimination of evil there. We also ask for Your will to be done in the lives of Christians in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona and for those who do not know Jesus Christ to meet Him and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
