What is Salvation?

Salvation is deliverance from the power and effects of sin by Jesus Christ's death on the cross and His resurrection. The truth is our sin separates us from God- Isaiah 59:1-2. The Bible tells us that the wages of sin is death- Romans 6:23. But the Good News is, God in His love sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to walk this earth and live a perfect life- 2 Corinthians 5:21. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for you, taking all of your sin upon Himself; He was buried, but He didn't stay dead. He rose again on the third day- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4- and He is now sitting at God's right hand- Hebrews 1:3. Jesus stood in the gap for you, providing a way for you to stand justified in God's sight, just as if you never sinned.

1 John 1:9 NKJV says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." So, if you want to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you need to:

Realize you are a sinner- Romans 3:23

Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you- Romans 5:8

Repent of your sin- Acts 3:19

Receive Christ into your life- Romans 10:9

Would you like to accept Jesus Christ into your life right now? If so, you can pray a prayer like this one:

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and that you rose again from the dead. I repent of my sins. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Please help me to follow You every day of my life. Thank You for saving me! Thank You for loving me! I pray this all in Jesus' precious name, Amen.
