The Right Touch

We all have our own set of unique circumstances that you cannot compare. On the outside life may look similar, but truly it is different. People may face similar situations, but their spiritual gifts and past experiences affect how they handle that specific situation. Amy Carmichael has a quote that says, “I am more and more assured that it is not so much what you go through that matters, but how you go through it.”

Trust.

Trust in the LORD!

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths”- Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV. When you walk through a trial trusting the Lord, you have a countenance that is different from anyone else. You are purified by fire. The Lord’s refining flame. He alone knows you inside and out. For truly who are you in constant communication with? That is revealed in the flame? Do you know Jesus?

He knows you!

Jesus has the right touch. The multitudes swarmed Him begging for their sick and lame to be healed. He never healed in the same way. Why? They had similar ailments. But could it be just like when David inquired of the Lord on how to defeat the Philistines? The Lord gave him a different “route” the second time- 2 Samuel 5:17-25? Its not the action that provides deliverance. It’s the Lord!

The Lord has a specific purpose in every decision He makes- Isaiah 55:8-9. Every time He healed, His action proclaimed a message that continues to reverberate through time. Jesus Christ saves. If Jesus had healed in the same way each and every time, the people in their weakness would have idolized the action taking their eyes off of their Savior. Jesus knows our weakness. And He knows where He wants our eyes. Constantly on Him; trusting Him, not the action.

In Mark 7:31-37, the people brought a man to Jesus begging Him to heal him. The man was deaf and had a speech impediment. Jesus pulled the man aside from the multitude, stuck His fingers in his ears and then spit on His fingers and stuck them on the man’s tongue. “Be opened,” He commanded. And immediately the man could hear perfectly and he was able to speak plainly.

A miracle.

A miracle is God’s divine intervention in a situation. His touch on a life. Every miracle reflects the saving nature of Jesus Christ, witnessed on the Cross of Calvary. For He alone saves. He alone heals. It’s not the action; it’s the right touch of a Savior.

No matter your situation today, trust Jesus Christ! He loves you so much. He’s walking you through the flame. His touch on your life heals your soul.

Will you pray with me?

Abba! Thank You for Jesus Christ, Your Word made flesh. His touch on our life, changes our hearts! We can fearlessly enter Your presence solely because of the death and resurrection of Jesus- Ephesians 3:12. You welcome us with open arms. Our loving Father! We imitate You as little children- Ephesians 5:1; walking in love by following the example of Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us- Ephesians 5:2. There are so many broken today, needing Your touch on their life. Lord, You tell us the prayer of faith saves the sick- James 5:15. So, today, we are praying for Your divine touch on the lives of those who are suffering. The psalmist declared, “O LORD my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me”- Psalm 30:2. The faith of the sick moves mountains. That heart clinging to You and only You. Thank You Lord for hearing their prayers and answering the cries of those whom You love. Lord, You strengthen them on their bed of illness, You alone sustain them on their sick bed- Psalm 41:3. They light up the room reflecting You- Matthew 5:16. Many, Lord, are sick almost unto death, but You have mercy on them- Philippians 2:27. Your compassion on the hurting supersedes all. Thank You King for Your everlasting love and faithfulness, for Your command is eternal life- John 12:50. We love You so much! And we pray this all in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
