Revival Bible Verses

Revival Bible verses are all throughout Scripture. They are not merely verses that say the word “revive,” they are verses instructing actions and words, enlightening hearts to what it means to be right with God through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Truly,

A genuine desire for Jesus Christ ignites revival in a heart and mind; it’s a life hungering and thirsting for righteousness.

A genuine desire for Jesus Christ is found in a repentant heart, a heart and mind recognizing God’s grace, a heart and mind submitted unto Him and prayerful, a heart’s desire to seek Him, a heart and mind knowing Christ’s forgiveness, and a heart and mind recognizing their dependence upon Him.

Revival Requires Repentance

  • “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV

  • “If we claim we have no sin, we re only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.” 1 John 1:8-10 NLT

  • “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” Romans 3:23 NLT

Revival Involves Grace

  • “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this, it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

  • “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NLT

  • “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NLT

Revival bible verses

Revival is Found in Submission to God

  • “So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.” 1 Peter 5:6 NLT

  • “And from the throne came a voice that said, ‘Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.’ Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: ‘Praise the LORD! For the Lord our God, the Almighty reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.” Revelation 19:5-7 NLT

  • “But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:24 NLT

Revival is in the Prayerful

  • “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16 NLT

  • “And this is the way to have eternal life – to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth.” John 17:3 NLT

  • “Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence.” Ephesians 3:12 NLT

Revival Comes from Seeking God

  • “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. So take this seriously …” 1 Chronicles 28:9-10a NLT

  • “When You said, ‘Seek My face,’ my heart said to You, ‘Your face LORD I will seek.'” Psalm 27:8 NKJV

  • “Study this Book of Instructions continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT

Revival Arises in Those Who Know God’s Forgiveness

  • “In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins.” Hebrews 9:22 NLT

  • “But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:12-14 NLT

  • “Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!” Micah 7:18-19 NLT

Revival Arises from Dependence upon God

  • “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:10-12 NLT

  • “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, ‘For your sake we are killed everyday; we are being slaughtered like sheep.’) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Romans 8:35-37 NLT

  • “But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!” Isaiah 54:17 NLT

Revival is not found in idolatrous people. It is found in those who have One God and are dependent upon Him.
