The Protector

As I sit here reading through Psalm 121 this morning, “timing” is on my heart. There is a time for everything. So many are praying and persevering in prayer, desiring for the Lord’s deliverance from something. My prayer today is that we would all press in to the Lord, trusting the truth of His word. For God always keeps His promises; it’s in His name–Jehovah, the covenant keeping God.

This truth in scripture is for so many today, “The LORD keeps you from all evil and preserves your life”–Psalm 121:7 NLT. The Lord, Himself, preserves your life and the life of your loved one. God cares about your life. Everyday of your life is written in His book. God knew today would happen–Psalm 139:16. The Lord, Himself, keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever–Psalm 121:8. God keeps us safe from harm. He is The Protector.

God will not allow you to stumble and fall; He watches over your every step–Psalm 121:3. Trust that truth. As you are abiding in Him- John 15:4, seeking to live out the Word–Psalm 119:11, God is living out His promises–2 Peter 1:4. He does not go to sleep– Psalm 121:3. We all fall asleep because we get tired; but He doesn’t. He loves you so much. He stands beside you, always–Psalm 121:5. That confident trust that wherever you go, He is with you–Matthew 28:20.

This psalm gives assurance to the struggling, “I look up to the mountains–does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made the heavens and the earth!” Psalm 121:1-2 NLT. Our help comes from the Lord!

Will you pray with me?

Abba! Thank you for this beautiful day. Your timing, Lord, is so perfect. So many are seeking You this morning as they go to church; desiring to meet with You. You know their situation so well.  Some aren’t in a church, yet seeking You diligently. Thank You for preparing hearts to receive Your truth. Lord, would You go before the pastors and spiritual leaders today, making them sensitive to Your voice. Fill them with the Holy Spirit–Ephesians 5:18, giving them the wisdom they need in the moment–James 1:5. And Lord would You go before all those serving Your church, giving them the energy to serve You with the gifts You have given them. You have perfect knowledge of every situation, we don’t. So, would You make us sensitive to the leading of Your Holy Spirit to reach out to those You have burdened our hearts with? We are Your hands and feet. Whom do You want us to pray for today? For those struggling, Lord, the right word at the right time can change everything. Everything can change in a minute. As Christians, we tag team with one another. We are all on the same team, we just have different positions. Praying for unity. Thank You Lord for the picture of unity in Psalm 133. Praying we, the church, live it out in humility. You are the Protector, giving us Your Word, keeping us all from stumbling. Thank You Lord. We pray this all in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
