1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” This verse is a command. God is telling us what His will is. Live a life of thankfulness, regardless of our circumstances.
Whenever we come to verses in Scripture that detail clearly what God’s will is, we know that what He says is the best thing for us, as we live in this fallen world. God’s eyes see clearer than our eyes on any given day. He is perfect in knowledge. He is our Creator. Jesus knows our weaknesses, for He walked as a man here on earth. He personally knows circumstances can derail people mentally. But God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, He has given us power, love, and a sound mind in every circumstance. This ability helps us to focus on Him and give Him thanks, even in trying times.
Here on earth, circumstances change, but Jesus never changes. He is the one constant we have in life, and His consistency keeps us stable.
Honestly, we do not have to give thanks for difficult times – there are evil, cruel situations that some face with hatred rampant in communities. We give thanks to God in difficult times because He is worthy of our thanks.
God’s love for us is strong – it’s a stronger influence in our lives than the world’s hatred. He has given us everything we need to overcome.
Thank You God!

Do you desire revival in your own personal life and in those around you?
Truly, a genuine desire for Jesus Christ ignites revival in a heart and mind – it’s a life hungering and thirsting for righteousness.
This book, Revival of the Hearts, is a quick in-depth look at 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV, where God says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
A timeless truth from God aimed at His own who have turned away from Him, or who will turn from Him at some point in time. For every sin we commit turns us subtly away. But God in His merciful grace, forgives the repentant sinner. It’s a promise. Not an outlet to sin, simply to receive His grace; but a road traveled by many in humble repentance.
2 Chronicles 7:14 is an amazing, timeless verse in the Old Testament that speaks to us today regarding revival in our own heart, and in those around us.
In these ten chapters, VanderWeerd breaks down the truths God declares in 2 Chronicles 7:14; providing a quick in-depth look into Scripture, helping readers gain a richer understanding of God’s word and how to live it out in their personal lives. This book is great for personal study or for a group bible study, with questions for discussion at the end of each chapter.
