Cultivating a Heart of Gratitude

Cultivating a heart of gratitude begins with us remembering the work Jesus did for us on the cross.

It always begins with Jesus!

When we live our life in Christ, rooted in His love displayed for us on the cross and the very real truth that He did not remain dead, He rose again on the third day and is alive, seated at God’s right hand – we understand the power of the resurrection. God’s power over death and the grave declares we have victory in Jesus in every situation we face.

Friend, we don’t just acknowledge the gospel the first day we get saved. We keep the gospel at the forefront of our mind; for every day we need to ask God to forgive us of our sins. Every day we need to remember the cross and the humble sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and we need to give Him thanks. For the atoning blood of Christ makes our lives righteous and pleasing to God.

Today, think upon the cross and the saving work of Jesus Christ. Think about how the Good News has changed lives – your life, your family’s life, and the lives of those in your church and community. Think back to when you first accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and the transforming work He has done in your life since, and give Him thanks. For your life and the lives of those around you, would be absolutely different today if it was not for the divine intervention of Jesus Christ.
